Message from Mediation & Conflict Solutions

 

Dear mediators and community members,
Please consider and share the invitation in this email to an important July joint training by Minnesota and Baltimore mediators.
We are in a disruptive moment. It is simultaneously unsettling and promising - a time to let go and to create.
As organizations committed to helping our communities understand conflict and tap into the power of good conversation to resolve conflict, repair harm and imagine new ways of being a community, we would like to invite you to participate in a collaborative and virtual 30-Hour Mediator training in July.
Whether you are trying to find your calling in this moment/movement or wanting to bring new concepts/skills/relationships into your work, please consider making the commitment to a 30-Hour Basic Mediation training. 
When: 7 Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in July from Noon - 4 (July 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30 with limited make-up opportunities.)
Where: Online. Instructions and roleplays will be online.  Join us from the comfort/convenience of your personal classroom.
What: Training components include:
  • How Community Mediation is Social Justice Work
  • The Art of Mediation
  • Inclusive Listening, Inclusive Reflecting
  • Asking open-ended questions
  • Framing topics, Generating and drafting agreements
  • Mediator ethics
  • Coached roleplay practice
Trainers: Erricka Bridgeford (Baltimore), Sharon Press (Minnesota), Tracee Ford (Baltimore) and experienced Minnesota mediators as roleplay coaches.
Certification: For Minnesotans, this course is certified as a Rule 114 Civil mediation training and MN Chapter 494 training. Continuing Legal Ed credits have been applied for.
Volunteer opportunities: On your registration, please indicate the Minnesota center you are or would like to be involved with.  
Cost: It depends...
  • $150 if you're a student/AmeriCorps or intend to use the training in a volunteer capacity
  • $700 if wanting CLE credits
  • Name-your-own rate. We want this training to be accessible AND valued. If you want to pay more or less than the above rates, please enter your own modified amount.

How community mediation in Social Justice work

The art of mediation

Ethics of mediation

Credits: Rule 114 Training and 30 CLE credits to be applied for.

Dates and Times:

Every Tues/Thurs. from July 9-July 30

July 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30

Time: 12-4 pm CST

Must attend all hours for credit

Meet rule 114 requirements for the Supreme Court Mediator Roster

Registration is limited to 50

*We are committed to making training opportunities accessible AND valued. If you would like to pay a different rate, please select 'other- scholarship' and enter the rate that reflects accessible to and valued by you.
