February 25, 2020 – ROCHESTER, MINN. The City of Rochester, in partnership with Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency (DMC EDA) is reviewing its Destination Medical Center Targeted Business Enterprise Utilization Plan .
As a part of Targeted Business Enterprise (TBE) goal-setting methodology, the City will be hosting community engagement workshops. These will be focused on TBE and workforce participation goal setting as well as capacity building discussions, with intent to increase the number of certified companies locally-owned and operated by women, minorities and veterans and explore ways to increase diversity among the construction workforce. The workshops will be facilitated by Margaret Gowan Mester, an experienced independent facilitator for the Diversity Council.
In the afternoon of Thursday, May 20, the Rochester Area – Construction Small Business Support – Collaboration, a group of interested organizations that have been meeting to build Targeted Business capacity since September 2019, will gather in the Jaguar Communication Conference Center located in the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce.
